The project and its requirements

The rehabilitation programme included approximately 1 500 protective concrete elements around the Burj Al Arab island. Resistance in an active marine environment was decisive in selecting the material.

How the reinforcement was used

The designer selected MateenBar™ for its corrosion resistance and the aim of at least 50 years of operation for the protective elements.
